Gifty was born in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, and moved to the U.S. at age seven. To master English after arriving, she relied on a heavy diet of SpongeBob SquarePants and listened to her sister read Goosebumps aloud, which sparked a lifelong obsession with reading. She attended Northeastern University, where she earned a B.S. in Health Science and an MPH with a concentration in Biostatistics. Before stepping into her current academic chapter, she spent her gap years working as a data analyst within the area of population medicine and research.
When she isn't busy studying, you'll find Gifty cooking big meals for friends and family, devouring books, or traveling. Traveling with her family is her favorite pastime, and she is always itching to explore new wonders of the world. A warm-weather enthusiast, Gifty firmly maintains that summer is the best season of the year and is always ready to connect over good food, travel stories, or a solid book recommendation.

Joe grew up in Rochester Hills, Michigan, and attended the University of Michigan, where he earned a B.S. in Neuroscience and a minor in Business Administration. Before medical school, he worked as an EMT with Huron Valley Ambulance and spent a year in DC working at the NIH. He's back in Metro Detroit and is now a member of the WSUSOM Class of 2030, serving as Class Treasurer.
Outside of school, Joseph enjoys playing pickleball, trading stocks, finding absurdly cheap ways to travel, and always looking to get involved in or invest in the next big thing. He has a borderline unhealthy obsession with getting the best value for his money, whether that means finding a flight for half the price, maximizing credit card points, or figuring out how to make a dollar stretch a little further. If you need help planning a vacation on a budget, thinking about retirement, or coming up with money-management strategies, he’s your guy.

Sara was born and raised in Bloomfield Hills, MI. She attended Wayne State University where she received a B.S. in Biochemistry in 2026. Outside of school, she loves finding new coffee spots, binging tv shows, spending time with friends and family, and never turning down a good karaoke night (even though she's aware she does not have the ability). As a class representative, Sara is excited to be an approachable voice for her classmates, advocate for their ideas and concerns, and help make the M1 experience as fun and supportive as possible.
