President · Trevor Buck

teebuck@wayne.edu

Trevor Buck was raised in Rochester Hills, Michigan and attended Rochester Adams High School. He attended the University of Michigan where he graduated with a B.S. in Cellular, Molecular, and Biological Sciences. In Ann Arbor, he played club baseball and served as an EMT for Huron Valley Ambulance. A proud alum of Umich’s Baker Lab, he is excited to continue to serve Metro Detroit.

Trevor loves Detroit sports. In his free time, he may be found placing semi-irresponsible 9-legged parlays or watching his favorite show First Things First. He is often found beautifying the MD labs creating biochemistry hieroglyphs on the whiteboards. When not at school, he is playing with his two golden retriever soulmates and banging Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Vice President · David Abdelnour

abdelnourdavid@wayne.edu

David Abdelnour grew up in West Bloomfield, MI and attended Wayne State University where he received a B.A. in Chemistry. If he's not locked in on some lectures, you can find David enjoying some quality ramen, spending time with family and friends, or doom scrolling on youtube shorts (deleted tik tok). Whether it's eating an obnoxious amount of parmigiano reggiano, tackling the daily wordle, or ripping some daily pullups, you can be assured that David is ready to share the vibes with anyone who comes his way.

Treasurer · Hadi Elmenini

hadi.elmenini@med.wayne.edu

Hadi grew up in Dearborn Heights, MI, and attended the University of Michigan where he received a B.S. in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience and minored in Business Administration. During the warmer 2/3 of the year, you can find Hadi on any given fairway or green across the state of Michigan. On the last 1/3, you will catch Hadi perfecting his roll in aspirations of winning a bowling league. A movie enthusiast, an aspiring chess professional, and a former basketball prospect, Hadi’s hobby variability is uncanny.

Class Representative · Leah Abdallah

leahabdallah@wayne.edu

Leah is a true Michigander, born and raised in Ann Arbor. Growing up, she played soccer and later refereed, from travel soccer to state tournaments. She attended the University of Michigan (#GOBLUE) where she earned a B.S. in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology with a minor in Applied Statistics, and she also completed an honors thesis. When she’s not exploring coffee shops to grind lectures, she enjoys a relaxing night in with friends, watching shows or playing games. She has repeatedly volunteered at Habitat for Humanity builds and has become pretty handy at using power tools, especially the nail gun. She loves to bake, particularly if the recipe has chocolate, and is a huge fan of the Great British Bake Off show.

Class Representative · Daniel Molnar

dmolnar@wayne.edu

Daniel split his time growing up in suburban Colorado and the open farms of rural Montana. Before going to college, Daniel served in the USMC infantry, where he was able to travel the world and spend time in Japan, the Philippines, and Malaysia. Somewhere along the way, he decided to make the *very small* career change from fighter physician, and earned a BS in Human Physiology from the University of Iowa. As a father of three, Daniel can often be spotted with his kids at the Detroit Zoo, and he is not afraid of telling a few “Dad Jokes.” When his nose isn’t buried in a book or a lecture, Daniel can usually be found on the phone with friends and family, playing video games, or at the archery range, and he tries to go snowboarding at least once each year.

Class representative · Emilio Espinal

espinal@wayne.edu

Dominican-born and Florida-raised, Emilio approaches medical school with a passion for authenticity, advocacy, and human-centered leadership. With a non-traditional path to medicine that includes a background in psychology and a leave of absence after M1, Emilio tries to bring a grounded perspective to student government—one shaped by real-life experience and a belief that medical students are more than their titles. When he's not softly weeping on his USMLE First Aid book, he's playing an instrument, taking photographs of nature, or teaching swim lessons. He is committed to building community, fostering open dialogue across class years, and creating spaces where students feel seen, supported, and heard. Emilio strives to represent students as people—minds, bodies, and hearts.

AAMC Official Student representative · Jolyna Chiangong

jolynac@wayne.edu

Jolyna was born in Detroit and raised in Southfield, MI. She obtained her BS in Biology, Health, and Society and Gender and Health from the University of Michigan and her MS in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University. In her gap year, she completed a research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health.

As someone who loves movement, she enjoys cycling classes, yoga, tennis, and recently hiking. In addition, she loves to attend sporting events...regardless of whether or not she understands all parts of the sport (protip: just cheer when everyone else is cheering). Furthermore, Jolyna has a strong appreciation for music whether through choir or as a competitive flutist. Music has served as a way for her to connect with people of diverse backgrounds. Jolyna also enjoys cooking foods from all over the world, baking to quench her sweet tooth, dancing, and poetry writing! Lastly, she is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Jolyna’s palette of interest has allowed her to connect with individuals from all walks of life and she hopes to continuously connect and advocate for students at WSUSOM.
